1950 Studebaker Champion 2 Door Sedan

Pat Weisgerber
Adamstown, MD

Pat's 1950 Studebaker Champion 2-Door Sedan is going to be a serious piece of race hardware. It has a complete tube chassis under it with 14 point roll cage, Mustang II front suspension, 4 link rear suspension holding an Alston fab-9 housing and Moser aluminum center section. The engine he chose is a BBC with a Littlefield 8-71 blower and a manual valve body Turbo 400 transmission. With this engine, Pat figures it should run in the high 9 second range and with a planned new engine, it should run in the 8's. Check out that wheelie bar at the rear. This car will be completely streetable and will be driven to shows and rod runs whenever possible. Look for it in the Maryland area soon.

June, 2024 Update

Pat was a Facebook friend and I recently saw that he had passed away earlier this year. I contacted his widow Sheri and this was her reply:

Pat had his ups and downs healthwise and hadn't worked on his car for a while. My son and brother are working on it in his memory and hope to get it ready sooner rather than later.

She posted this recent photo of the car and if I get more updates, I'll add them here.
