1950 STUDEBAKER "ICE PRINCESS"

Richard Fletcher

According to info on the Internet, the Ice Princess was built by Richard in 1987. It started life as a 1950 Studebaker "sedan" and ended up as this six wheeled, 20 foot long space ship looking ride. His plan was to create a concept car that he envisioned the Studebaker stylists coming up with back in the 50's and he named it the XF58.

The body was mostly hand formed using the sheet metal from the Studebaker and a 1960 Cadillac. A later model Cad also provided the 500 ci engine.

After it was completed, it toured Europe twice; once as the Vampiremobile and again in 2005 as the restyled Ice Princess.

In 2018 it was sold at the Russo & Steele auction in Scottsdale, AZ for $38,500.00.
