Chevy Roofed Sled
1950 Studebaker Champion

Bill Bowman
So. Chicago Heights, IL

Here is another ambitious project. Bill started by mounting his 1950 Studebaker Champion 2 Door Sedan on a Mustang GT chassis that has been stretched 13". It will be running the Mustang 5.0 engine and automatic transmission and the Mustang cowl and dashboard will remain.

Bill removed the stock roof and added the roof from a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier and the rear window from a 1980 Chevrolet Camaro. The Cavalier also donated the tops of the doors.

Look closely and see that although the front fenders have been stretched, the headlights sit further back than in stock form. The very front of the car is stock width, but tapers and gets wider at the cowl (6") and stays about the same to the rear. The trunk lid will be about 6" wider than stock.

Bill says this is definitely not a weekend project but we hope to get progress pictures as he works towards completion.

Stay tuned........
