1951 Studebaker Champion 4 Door Sedan

Jon Stalnaker
Sapulpa, OK

Jon left most of the exterior of his 4 door sedan stock looking, but underneath the sheet metal it's anything but. During a no expense spared frame off restoration, Jon added a 5.3 L GM truck engine and 4L60E transmission. Jon had the engine cover air brushed with a 1940's Studebaker trunk lid emblem. While Studebaker dealers offered an add-on propeller for the bullet, Jon opted for a string of LED lights around the center ring and calls them his "Buck Rodgers" lights. Bet that looks great at night-time cruises.

The "cartoon" of Jon's car was commissioned by him and David Barrett did a great job. Jon is such a Studebaker addict that he also commissioned the funeral urns below. Talk about going in style .....

July, 2021 Update:

Jon wrote to say he recently relocated from Dixon, CA to Sapulpa, OK. He also sent a photo of the new steering wheel he had made for his car. I'm not sure Studebaker ever had one that looks this good.
